Integrative Mental Health Services

How We Practice

Integrative mental health is the foundation of how we deliver care at Therapeutic Health Associates.

Rather than focusing on a diagnosis or a single symptom, we look at the full picture of what’s influencing how you feel. That includes your mental health history, physical health, sleep, nutrition, hormones, genetics, stress, and daily habits, and how those pieces interact over time.

This whole‑person perspective allows us to identify patterns that may be missed in more narrow models of care. Our goal is to understand what’s happening beneath the surface so your treatment decisions feel informed, intentional, and aligned with your life.

How Care Is Delivered

Our approach is designed to be thoughtful, collaborative, and flexible. As your provider, we will help you decide what makes the most sense for your wellbeing. We do this by understanding your system as a whole which means, listening carefully to your story, reviewing your history, and exploring how emotional, biological, and lifestyle factors may be contributing to your symptoms. From there, we identify priorities and possible contributors.

For some people, medication plays an important role. For others, lab work, supplements, or lifestyle adjustments offer meaningful insight or support. Often, care involves a combination of approaches introduced gradually over time.

This process allows us to move beyond symptom management and toward care that feels responsive and personalized.

Tools We May Use As A Part Of Your Health Care Plan

Integrative mental health care draws from a range of tools. Not everyone needs all of them, and no single tool defines the approach. What matters is how each option is considered, combined, and paced based on your needs.

The tools below may be part of your care at different points. Each is optional, and decisions are always made collaboratively.

Medication Management

Medication can be an important and effective part of treatment. When it’s indicated, we take a conservative, thoughtful approach aiming for the lowest effective dose and regularly reassessing how it’s working for you. Medication is never used in isolation from the rest of your health picture.

Lab Work & Genetic Testing

When helpful, lab work can offer valuable insight into biological factors that influence mood, energy, focus, and sleep. This may include thyroid markers, vitamin or mineral levels, hormonal patterns, or pharmacogenetic testing to help guide medication choices. Testing is used selectively to inform care.

Supplements & Botanicals

Evidence‑based supplements may be used to support brain and body health or address identified deficiencies. Recommendations are specific, intentional, and integrated carefully alongside any medications or other treatments.

Lifestyle & Mind ‑ Body Practices

Sleep, nutrition, movement, stress, and daily routines play a powerful role in mental health. We offer practical, realistic guidance in these areas focusing on small, sustainable changes rather than rigid rules or overhauls.

Collaboration & Referrals

When appropriate, we collaborate with therapists, primary care providers, or other specialists to support coordinated care. Integrative mental health recognizes that no single provider works in isolation.

Care Planning & Ongoing Review

Care is not static. We regularly review what’s working, what’s changed, and what may need adjustment. This allows your treatment plan to stay responsive over time, rather than fixed or automatic.

This approach may be a good fit if you:

Integrative mental health is about doing what’s appropriate, based on your goals and your comfort level.

This model may not be the right fit if you’re looking for crisis‑only care, a single‑visit fix, or a medication‑only approach without discussion. Our work is most effective when there’s room for conversation, reflection, and shared decision‑making.

Who This Approach Is For

Integrative mental health care works best for people who want to understand why they feel the way they do. Many of our patients arrive feeling stuck or unheard, after trying approaches that didn’t fully address what was going on.

They may have tried medication before, worked hard on lifestyle changes, or seen multiple providers without getting a clear, cohesive picture. They’re often functioning on the outside while struggling internally, and they’re looking for care that takes the full context of their life into account.
